CHAPTER 78 HISTORY

Chapter 78 applied for status as a new chapter in late May 1998 designated the South Coast Chapter (Provisional) with Ray Estrella acting as temporary president. In a letter dated June 2, 1998 to Jimmy Dean, who was then Special Forces Association National’s Secretary and Administrator, we requested that our chapter be numbered LXXVII(77), which was then noted as not to be used in “The Drop”. “Second Term” officers elections were held at the American Legion Post 295 in Cypress CA, on June 10, 2000. At this time the chapter went from “provisional” to “Regular” status.

The Chapter By-Law’s were approved by a Two-thirds vote of the membership who were given a prior notice for voting on October 13, 2001.
